Influence

Organisations who provide reusable, affordable furniture  intersect across welfare, health, wellbeing, housing, homelessness, employment, enterprise, community and waste issues. We lobby and sell the work of this unique type of community organisation to a wide range of stakeholders, commissioners and partners; shaping services, reducing costs and fundamentally, helping those most in need in our communities.

Inform

We read and interpret news, research, reports, policies and strategies, from national and Greater Manchester sources, advising of the risks to, and the opportunities for community organisations. Information is shared via newsletters, blog posts, case studies, local networking and peer support events.

Promote

Using art, activism, knowledge and influence to raise awareness of furniture poverty; the work of community-based organisations; and the social and environmental benefits of reusing rather than disposing of furniture and other household goods.

Guide

We provide advice and guidance to community organisations across a range of technical, operational and policy issues, including trading standards; quality management; public sector commissioning; and waste and welfare legislation linked to the reuse of household goods, reducing debt and poverty.

This minimises organisational risk, reduces costs and increases business and income opportunities.

Connect

We create events for informal networking, peer support and good practice exchange between community organisations. We develop opportunities to bring these organisations together with external stakeholders, potential partners, donors and customers.
